About
Dogi
Dogi the Yogi evolved from the simple observation
that a dog will do a "downward dog" every time he needs to stretch.
My husband and I were having a lot of fun reaching our
arms over our head, stretching and pretending to yawn which inspired Kevlar
[a Golden Retriever] to stretch along with us.
The stretching led to sketching and with a series of
poses in place, a happy rhyme evolved tying the piece together.
I researched children's yoga and consulted friends, moms and
teachers for a collection of fun and challenging child-appropriate
poses.
Having studied yoga for 10 years,
I am keenly aware of the postive influences yoga has had on my life
and wanted to share this gift with a younger generation of yogis.
I've heard wonderful feedback from
parents. Children of all ages love practicing the poses and
reading along.
I hope you and your children enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed
writing and illustrating it!
Namaste,
Maria Scrivan
